WHO ARE WE

Hailing from the Kollam district of Kerala, Travancore Meat Company is the brainchild of three people from totally different walks of life, but all three with a background and expertise in management and administration. As a company with visionary and demanding stakeholders, members of our team are best in their respective fields and well equipped with great knowledge in their respective arenas.

S. Subbiah is an ex-IAS officer with a specialization in Veterinary and Animal Sciences. He has also held offices previously as Secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of Kerala and as Director, State Farm Corporation, Govt. of India. He has also been on the boards of various PSUs of Kerala such as Poultry Development Corporation, Meat Products of India, Kerala Feeds, Kerala Livestock Development Board, etc. His knowledge and prowess in the field are vast. K R Vidhu Raj, a Civil Engineer, stepped into the business world with the team to give life to Travancore Meat Company after the completion of his Masters in Management from the University of Sydney, Australia. K R Govind Raj has been an auditing analyst with Ernst and Young after completing his graduate degree from the Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. We are looking forward to extending our wings to all cities in Kerala and serve the entire region with fresh and hygienic meat curated with utmost care and professionalism.

Our Story

Our farm in Tenkasi is set up with a mission. Being very close to Kerala, the meat can reach the state in no time. The farm is certified and licensed to be eligible for livestock management by the Tamil Nadu State Government. Our cattle are checked by the vet and are butchered by experts under the supervision of an experienced veterinary surgeon. In a world that is already shaken twice by deadly zoonotic disease, we are set to become the benchmark of meat processing and management.


At Travancore Meat Company, we insist on maintaining safety standards, which are often overlooked by the retailers and local butchers who have great possibilities to exploit the uninformed public. The expertise, professionalism and care along with the products served is our forte. The meat is offered from our privately owned farm in Tenkasi. Fed with premium quality cattle feed, our cattle are kept well and clean so that no compromises are made in ensuring the quality of our product.


For us, sustainability is a great concern since the world around should also persist in harmony while we flourish both as a company and community. The residual products after processing are recycled and effectively used rather than dumping carelessly causing environmental nuance. A perfect way to retain the freshness of the meat is to contain it chilled and Travancore Meat Company strictly follows this most effective method. Rather than freezing the meat at -10 degree Celsius, the atmospheric conditions are modified and temperature set to 0-4 degree Celsius thus preventing the meat from microbial deterioration and rotting.


Our team consists of veterinary surgeons, farm managers, and skilled butchers.
